This July 1-3 marks the
140th Anniversary
of the
Battle of Gettysburg.

It is also the 90th Anniversary of
The Lincoln Highway Association.

Sixty Five years ago in 1938
in order to commemorate
the 25th Anniversary
of the Lincoln Highway Association
and the 75th Anniversary of
Gettysburg,

a Special NBC Nationwide Broadcast

was set up at 2pm.

In addition,
President Roosevelt
took the occasion

to dedicate

The Eternal Light Memorial,

that it might be...

And during the course of his speech,
the President said,

"Lincoln was the Commander in Chief of this Battle;
[but] he wanted above all things
to be the Commander in Chief
of the new Peace."
