Plan "B"
Kids,
Well so much for Wishful Thinking...
While it looked promising, the reality of the situation is this.
When I send an email through my ISP to 100's of individuals,
my initial message is sent to their server
and it relays the message to each individual person on the address.
Because it thinks it's SPAM mail many times it will not send it properly.
By using the PostCast program my computer becomes the server,
so instead of their computer sending the hundreds of individual mails...
Guess what??
It only took 2.5 hours to send 400 or so updates with relatively small content, ie no photos.
So, what's a poor mother to do???
On to "Plan B"
Theoretically this is the best way anyhow,
but sometimes we need a good swift kick in the pants.
It took me 3 hours to write the first installment with the code,
but one the initial style set it should be cut and paste from here.
There are a few things to work on, but all in all looks pretty good.
From now on, or at least till I change my mind,
I'll send a short announcement of a new email which will include
a link to the web page with full text with photos.
This way you won't have to suffer through long downloads in your email program.
You will however have to wait for the WebPages to load.
One benefit is, if you want to send a long email to a friend
all you have to do now is send the link.
In addition, all the mails will be assessable from the web with indexing to boot...soon.
So for now lets try this ...
