Friday Night Football #1
Ever since I bought the Fire Truck in July of 2000,
I've tried to use it in ways that benefit others.
In addition to the Inaugural Parade in January,

the Truck has been the highlight of

The Lincoln National Birthday Celebration in Washington,

The Miss Ohio Parade in Mansfield Ohio,

the Ohio Fire Marshall Muster in Columbus,

and the Memorial Day Parade in Marion, Ohio to name a few.
I'm constantly on the lookout for new and exciting ways
to draw attention to The Lincoln Highway
and add to the specticle of the particular event.
It was about 6pm on a Friday night in September,
when I rolled into the quiet river town of Fulton, Illinois.
As I cruised down the Lincoln Highway toward the center of town,
I noticed off in the distance the stadium
lights were aglow and a crowd was beginning to gather.
And that could only mean one thing-Friday Night Football.
I got all excited and hurried to the Fire Station,
hoping they would "See the Light" and assist in my Quest.

As luck would have it, there were "Three" who answered the call
and we were soon off to the staduim.
I pulled the truck to the North end of the field
and as the band played the Star Spangled Banner,
Old Glory went up the 100 foot ladder.

You could have heard a pin drop...
And so, thus began the tradition of raising the Flag for Friday Night Football.
And Get this, it was Homecoming to boot!!!
After the game,

the band came over for a group shot,

as well as the Cheerleaders.

These two, just had to "Ham it Up".
That night, I was the guest of the Fulton Fire Department.

The next day while visiting the famous Fulton Windmill,

numerous individuals expressed their appreciation for the Special Flag Presentation.
What a treat it was to have benefited so many and been such and integral part local history.
No doubt they will not soon forget, "The Day Mr. Lincoln Came to Town".
