Miracle on 33rd Street
To continue...
Suddenly,
the phone rang.
It was Charlie,
a reporter from Ogden Standard-Examiner.
He called to check on my progress.
We had a photo shoot set up for
later in the day at the Central Fire Station.
I described to him my plight.
20 minutes later,
he and a photographer arrived on scene
to chronicle the days heartbreaking events.
I only had $150 cash,
so things weren't looking good.
Charlie arose to the occasion
and issued the call for "Help".

OK, so now back to Dean's...
to Read his Story
I called to explain my situation.
Kelly, the owner sent a man down
for a preliminary look see.
It didn't look good,
the engine had siezed and would not turn over.
I rode back to Dean's not knowing what to expect.
Miraculously,
I was greeted with open arms.
Turns out Kelly's brother-in-law
was a Fire Captain in West Valley.
So, the call for "Help" went out,
within minutes he had a place to stay.

Ogden Fire Station # 4...imagine that??
Next on the agenda was a "Hook".
Kelly called his usual tow service,
they never did return his call.
So next on the list was Brett's Towing,
not 3 blocks away.

Here's the Fire Engine on the TV Monitor,

just outside,

and on the way in.
After the drop I got a shot of Mac, the driver

with Mr. Lincoln and a Lincoln Highway License Plate.
By that time it was dark and time to go home for the day,

so off to Fire Station #4 and my deluxe accomodations.
Chapter 62, the Tear Down is next.
