The Engine that Love Built

Kids,

Then for the last time,

I said goodbye to Kelly and Crew.

Then it was off to Checkers Automotive
to say thanks for their donation:
4 cases of oil and 12 spark plugs.

Then it was up to FastSigns,
they made,
"The Engine that Love Built".

There's one on each side of the truck,
you can see it just to his right.

Here's a close up,
for those of you over 40.

As the time grew nigh,
I wanted to make a sign for truck
to Honor those who'd donated
their time, money and products.

But what to say??

Well, you know what they say,
"All good thing come to those who wait."

When I took the rods down to Felt's,
the service manager said they were way too big
for them to install the bushings and wrist pins.

He said I'd have to take them to Salt Lake,
some 40 miles away.

Another curve ball!!

Well, as you might imagine,
I wasn't real happy about it,
but then he said,
"Take them to Love Machine."

I had to smile.

There is was...

"The Engine That Love Built"

When I left on New Year Day,
I was a little hesitant.

I wanted to pay my respects,
but it seemed duty called.

So, when the delays came,
deep in my hear I knew.

Now I could stop bye and say,
"Thanks!"

It was getting late,
there was time for one more,
then I had to go...

This time it was Felt's Machine Shop.

They donated the mill work on the heads.

We took this picture,
I showed them the lock of President Lincolns Hair,
they signed the guest book,
and I was finally on my way!

Happy Days!!
