Ben Altheimer, like the American Pioneers who blazed their way westward, he helped through years of continued efforts to lead the way in establishing the popular and religious observation of Flag Day. To him, patriot of vision and inspiration belongs the honor and distinction of having contributed to the establishment of Flag Day in the hearts of the American People, thereby helping higher appreciation of the Flag of the the United States and the ideals, traditions, principles and institutions for which the flag stands. We wish to congratulate you upon recipt of this decoration, which carries with it life membership in the Order of the Flag which is the Legion of Honor of the United States Flag Associaiton and invests the recipient with the title "Knight of the Flag" |
